Low porosity hair isn’t the easiest to clean/nourish/moisturize since it isn’t easy to lift its cuticles and clean/let moisture/products/oils in. That’s why it is highly recommended to always apply indirect HEAT (which helps in lifting those cuticles) whenever you apply a pre-shampoo treatment/oils/shampoos or even deep conditioners. Using warm/hot water while shampooing will definitely make it more effective while a hot water towel or a steamer with the rest will do the job. (Ps. While it is recommended to use warm/hot water while shampooing or deep conditioning for low porosity hair, you don’t have to for the remainder of the shower. Actually using cold water for the last rinse will help close the cuticles and make the hair shiny after drying).
